Key Milestones for 2019
It is an amazing accomplishment to have thrived working for the same company working for more than 30 years. Well, we are proud to say that we not only have one but many that fall into this category. In fact, we have seven employees who are celebrating a milestone anniversary of 30 or more years in 2019. These employees, across the CoolSys enterprise, show their loyalty, hard work, and dedication daily, and we cannot thank them enough for their continued years of service. Take a moment to read more about each employee and their story throughout their years of service…

Greg Scott, Level 7 Technician – Source Refrigeration; Celebrating 45 years of service. Greg’s dad was the owner of Scott’s Refrigeration, one of our company’s origins, located in Twin Falls, Idaho. This is where Greg got his start, and he has gone through all of the company changes from then on. He is dedicated to our company and his community and wants to make sure he does a great job every time. Greg works not only on classic refrigeration, he also is there to help his customers in any way he can: dishwasher, washers, you name it — and he can fix it. His manager, Bruce Bachman, could not share enough nice things about him, but the one this he stressed was, “Greg is one of the hardest working guys in our company. He runs some of the highest hours, but that is because he is there to serve his customers in any way he can.”
Gary Wierzbicki, Service Technician – Ron’s Refrigeration; Celebrating 40 year of service. Gary started with Ron’s in 1979, just six years after the company was founded and after he came out of refrigeration school. He has worked the entire time as a service tech. He originally worked on home appliances back in the ‘70s and ’80s. Since then, he has proven he is great at fixing a very wide range of HVAC, refrigeration and food service equipment. Gary also has one of the best safety records of anyone at Ron’s. He is part of the generation that always shows up ready for work and is truly a friend to everyone who works at Ron’s. Tim Mancl, President of Ron’s, says, “As the company has grown and changed over the years, Gary has been one of those constant, solid employees that every manager hopes for. He’s really been a pleasure to have as one of our team.”
Bill Ackerman, Enterprise Account Manager – CoolSys; Celebrating 40 years of service. Bill started in the refrigeration industry as an Engineering Draftsman at Kimmel-Motz in 1979. In his first five years, he held positions as Purchasing Agent/Assistant Construction Manager, did a brief stint as Service Dispatcher and then became Construction Manager. Bill had such a good relationship with Stater Bros. in his CM role that when the salesman who handled Stater Bros. quit, the customer requested Bill take over their account. Forty years later, Bill is still in sales! Bill has enjoyed the ride as the business evolved from Kimmel-Motz to Edison Source, to Source Refrigeration and now to CoolSys. Mike Ochoa, EVP Sales/Marketing, says, “Bill’s customer-centric approach and tremendous work ethic are second to none. He exemplifies the meaning of doing whatever it takes to get the job done right. Bill is a great ambassador for CoolSys, and I am proud and fortunate to have him as a key part of our sales team!”
Joe Ligoci, President – ABC Refrigeration; Celebrating 35 years of service. For Joe, ABC has always been a part of his life. He remembers at age eight an ABC van being in his driveway. The company started back in the 1960s, and his dad joined the company and became a partner in the ’70s, quickly buying out his partners and becoming the owner of the company. When Joe graduated high school, he naturally joined the family business, where he started as a construction laborer, which at that time only had about ten people. Over the years, Joe learned all of the different facets of the company, and in late 2012 he took the reigns. Joe is proud of the company ABC has become and appreciates the hard work and dedication his employees give to him every day. Joe shared his “business continues to thrive, and we’re strengthening our market position and expanding services now that we are part of CoolSys. Factor in our growing technical training programs and it’s exciting times for ABC.”
Bruce Bachman, Service Manager – Source Refrigeration; Celebrating 35 years of service. Bruce started on the construction side of the business with Scott’s Refrigeration for about four years, before he moved over to the service side. He has traveled to and worked at most of the branches in the company, but when it was time to settle down with his now-wife, he settled on Pocatello, Idaho. Within five years of settling there, he became a manager, and as time went on, his responsibilities have shifted to include many different service areas; but currently, he manages our branches in Idaho. When asked about his time with Source Refrigeration he said, “Our motto used to be, ‘If we can’t fix it, it isn’t broken,’” which speaks to how versatile he and his group are.
Paul Easton, Level 7 Tech – Source Refrigeration; Celebrating 30 years of service. Originally a Sears Tech, Paul joined GHV in 1989 as an entry-level tech and has continued to be a great team player ever since. Paul is known to his team and region as a constant source of positive energy. He exemplifies what it means to have good work/life balance, which is important to him and his family, who greatly enjoy having him around to celebrate the new generation of babies. Paul works to serve his company and family, which is evident in his earlier years through his dedication to make sure his wife was able to pursue a career in nursing. Ron, his service manager, shared, “Paul is the reason I am here. I met him when he was servicing the store I worked at, and he shared how much he loved his job and convinced me to join him at Source.”
Don Perez, Level 8 Tech – Source Refrigeration; Celebrating 30 years of service. Don’s started as a tech with GHV in construction, building racks as a welder and pipefitter. About 10 years ago, Don moved into the EMS space with Source and has been an asset to the company his entire career. Don is dedicated and meticulous, which serves him well when he is training the future of our company and during field evaluations. Don has created a career for himself with Source that is due in part to the opportunity he found, but also in his ability to dedicate himself to both his work ethic and to his family. Mark Rotner, Regional Director of the California region, says, “Don makes sure he takes time to take care of himself through physical fitness and spending quality time with his family.” Family is of the utmost importance to Don, which has served him well during his career. Don serves as a great example to his team and is always there as a resource for both seasoned and new employees.
