Training Opportunities Abound for CoolSys Technicians
One of our key priorities for 2022 at CoolSys is to enhance training opportunities, particularly for our technicians. As part of that initiative, we’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of our intensive mentorship program for entry- and lower-level service technicians and construction apprentices. Participants must be motivated to perfect their craft. They will be hand-selected, based on their mechanical ability, attendance record and procedural follow-through.
Over the course of the program, the tech or apprentice will work one-on-one for nine weeks with an experienced mentor from CoolSys on a variety of goals and objectives, along with a three-week evaluation. Our intention with this program is to help new hires and apprentices feel more competent and confident in their work, which increases their chances of long-term job satisfaction and success. Watch for more information and details about the mentorship program.
In addition, local shops will soon be benefiting from the expertise and experience of our field trainers. These highly skilled technicians will provide customer-specific education on a variety of topics, such as refrigeration, EMS and HVAC.
More Ways to Learn and Grow
These are just two of the programs in our lineup of training opportunities for 2022. Here are a few more ways in which technicians can grow their skills and knowledge in HVAC-R:
Ask the Pros. This series of training and how-to videos will be emailed every other week. Topics will include checking superheat, construction skills, HVAC, ice machines, diagnosis of evac systems, performing a non-condensable test, manufacturer-specific interviews about new technologies, and other skills and issues of interest to HVAC-R technicians.
CoolSys Tech Library. This resource will enable you to view all Ask the Pros videos, along with all refrigeration, HVAC and EMS manuals and bulletins. The files are searchable, which means you’ll be able to quickly find your topic of interest.
CoolSys Trainer Portal. Here you’ll find old Tek Tips files, CoolSys Tek manuals and field evaluations.
CoolSys Academy. This SharePoint site, available on CoolNet, is the home of CoolSys TV. This is where you will find videos from the Ask the Pros series.
CoolSys Field Reference. This is your source for any CoolSys files that aren’t managed by the training department, such as refrigerant control or PM sheets.
