Career Growth Is Available to Everyone at CoolSys
One of our key goals at CoolSys is to support employees with education and training, helping them to grow in their career and providing opportunities to advance into higher positions within the company. We want CoolSys to be a place where employees can feel comfortable staying for their entire career, if they desire to do so.
Every week, CoolSys employees throughout the U.S. are moving up in the company as they gain experience and expertise in their field of work. We’re delighted to share the stories of two employees who have found career advancement and job satisfaction at CoolSys.
Opening the Door to Opportunity

From the time CoolSys was launched, callers and visitors to our main corporate office were greeted by the pleasant and professional voice of La Crishia Malcom, our front office receptionist. And though she loved her job, by earlier this year, she had begun thinking about taking a step up in her career.
Then, just at the right moment, she got a call from someone in the corporate Human Resources (HR) department. “They said, ‘We see you doing more. We think you could succeed on this side and build a career path,’” La Crishia recalls. “I was honored to be approached like that, and it made my appreciation for this company grow even more, just to be valued in that way.”
Subsequently, La Crishia was hired as a talent acquisition specialist in HR, beginning her new job on July 11. She’s now helping to find great candidates for administrative roles in CoolSys locations all across the U.S. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her hiking in Los Angeles and Orange counties or hanging out with her large, close-knit family.
La Crishia says she’s grateful for the opportunities she’s experienced at CoolSys and for the company’s focus on helping employees succeed in their careers. “We sometimes limit ourselves as to what we think we can accomplish,” she says. “I can’t explain the feeling you get when someone sees the better you.”
Dedicated to Creating Safer Workplaces

Inspiration sometimes comes when you least expect it. For Bernard Rowlett, it arrived with a safety team who visited his workplace. “I saw what they were doing, and I said, ‘That’s what I want to do,’” he recalls.
At the time, Bernard was an installation coordinator for Source Refrigeration — which later became CoolSys — in his native Denver, Colorado. On the advice of the safety professionals he spoke with, he earned a master’s degree in safety and started to get involved in safety activities in his workplace. Earlier this year, the position of CoolSys regional safety manager for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) in the Intermountain Region became available, and Bernard’s education, experience and enthusiasm helped him land the position.
In his new role, which he started on July 25, Bernard travels to CoolSys branches in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada to ensure that jobsites are in compliance with safety rules and laws, train employees and investigate accidents. (Some might argue, however, that Bernard’s biggest safety challenge is being a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan living in the heart of Broncos territory.)
Bernard appreciates the encouragement he has received from all levels of CoolSys management to pursue his career dreams, and he’s thankful for the people who have helped him along the way. “I have worked with a lot of very smart people who are willing to teach me what they know,” he says. “You don’t see that level of support in very many companies.”
