A Bounty of Learning Opportunities for Techs This Fall
One of our top priorities at CoolSys is to provide our technicians with the training, education and the technical support you need to excel at your job, go above and beyond for your customers and grow in your career. That’s why we’re excited to roll out a jam-packed season of in-person and online training classes this fall. If you’re certified level 2 or above, there’s a class for you!
In-Person and Online Classes
Starting in October, in-person sessions will be held at our training centers in Houston, Texas; Jacksonville, Florida; Fullerton, California; and Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Classes include instruction and hands-on lab time. In addition to classes for levels 2 to 6, we will offer a class for refrigerant apprentice 2, two journeyman classes and a foreman class.
Level 3 technicians who are unable to participate in an in-person class are invited to join one of our two online class sessions this fall — one beginning in October and the other in November. The classes are self-paced (approximately one chapter per week) and include the guidance of a local coach who will answer your questions about the material, provide hands-on instruction when needed and help you reach your training goals.
You should have already received information about these in-person and online classes at your workplace. If not, please speak with your supervisor if you’re interested in participating. Special thanks to Brett Wetzel, Manager of Technical Troubleshooting & Training, Ryan Herda, Director of Human Resources, PMO, Kyle Hickman, Director of Human Resources Learning and Development and Nakell Lee, Human Resources Coordinator for creating and managing this excellent lineup of classes!
Additional Ways to Learn and Grow
Along with classes, technicians can take advantage of the CoolSys 12-week intensive mentorship program for C&I Construction AP1 Or AP2 and CLC HVAC Level 1or 2. For the first nine weeks, participants work with an experienced level 5 or above technician, gaining 360 hours of high-quality, in-person training and working toward established objectives. During the final three weeks of the program, the mentor remains available to provide guidance and answer questions from the field. Graduates of the mentorship program can level up in their certification.
In the near future, HVAC technicians on the light commercial side of CoolSys can look forward to their own in-person and online training opportunities. Certification levels 2 through 5 are now being created, paving the way for the classes. Watch for more information to come on this exciting new development.
