A Message From CoolSys Chairman and Interim CEO Rick Frier
It is an honor to partner with the team of talented and knowledgeable CoolSys business leaders during this time of transition as we look toward a future of continued growth and development. Our goal is to better serve our customers while creating a safer and more rewarding work environment for CoolSys employees.
In early March, 110 leaders from all CoolSys businesses across the country met in Southern California for our 2023 Leadership Kickoff meeting. During that time, we developed five strategic initiatives that will guide our decision-making and actions in the months ahead, as well as five “culture principles” that define the manner in which we take care of Team CoolSys.
A Framework for Growth and Development
Our strategic initiatives include:
- Culture — Refining the way things are done at CoolSys, as well as how we act toward our fellow employees.
- Organic growth — Focusing our approach toward hiring new technicians, retaining our talented team and growing our customer base.
- Margin improvement — Being more strategic and intentional in price, cost, customer mix and capturing all job costs.
- Mergers & acquisitions — Ensuring that the new companies we choose to join the CoolSys family are a good strategic fit.
- Metrics — Identifying the top three to five drivers in each of our businesses and clearly defining the ways we will track and measure our progress in these areas.
The culture of CoolSys was a primary theme throughout our leadership meeting, so to complement our strategic initiative regarding culture, we broke into small groups to discuss and define the elements of culture we considered most important for CoolSys. Using those suggestions, our executive team created a list of five key principles to guide our culture moving forward. They include Safety, Respect, Empowerment, Collaboration and Accountability.
Watch for more information throughout the year as we begin to implement these strategic initiatives and culture principles into our day-to-day operations. I’m very excited about the future of CoolSys and where we are headed together as an organization.
