A New Way to Look Out for Our CoolSys Family

One of the things I like most about CoolSys is the culture of teamwork and family that runs throughout our company. We are Team CoolSys — and that means we take care of each other. That’s why I’m proud and excited to announce our newest program: The CoolSys Cares Employee Relief Fund.
Like so much that has happened this year, it all started with COVID-19. We were hearing stories of the hardships some of our furloughed employees were going through. We couldn’t just sit by idly while others on our team were struggling. So in June, we launched CoolSys Cares to provide financial assistance to full-time employees who had been hit hard by the effects of the pandemic. So far, we’ve helped 93 employees. That’s something we all can be proud of.
That got us thinking: What if we make CoolSys Cares a permanent program that goes beyond the COVID-19 crisis? So, we went back to your responses from last fall’s employee survey. You told us the most meaningful way we could participate in charitable giving as a company was to support employees during natural disasters and other emergencies. As a result of your feedback, we have expanded CoolSys Cares to encompass employees who have been financially impacted by a whole range of disasters — such as hurricanes, floods, tornadoes and wildfires — as well as those who have been unexpectedly called up for military deployment.
I’ve got to give a word of thanks to our owner, Ares Management, who enabled us to establish CoolSys Cares with their generous gift of $100,000. It’s just one of many ways Ares has gone above and beyond for CoolSys and our team. The program is also funded by CoolSys itself, as well as donations from customers, suppliers and you!
There’s something special about employees helping coworkers, so we wanted to give you an opportunity to participate — to make a difference in the lives of your fellow employees. We’ve partnered with the Emergency Assistance Foundation to administer CoolSys Cares donations. You can visit our CoolSys Cares page to make a one-time or recurring tax-deductible gift with a debit or credit card through PayPal or by text.
That page is also the place to request a grant from the fund, learn more about what situations qualify for a grant, and get access to other resources for education and help. Note that the Emergency Assistance Foundation handles the entire grant process. No one at CoolSys will know about your grant request unless you choose to share your story with us.
We’re also going to be hosting occasional fundraising events for CoolSys Cares. Our first event is coming up on Saturday, October 3, and I think you’re going to love this one! It’s a family-friendly, virtual, interactive magic show, beginning at 5 p.m. PDT (6 p.m., Mountain Time; 7 p.m., Central Time; and 8 p.m., Eastern Time). Your online donation of $20 or more gives you access to this evening of magical fun. It’s going to be cool knowing that members of the CoolSys family from all over the nation will be participating at the same time in this special event.
