Coffey’s Corner
Greetings all employees! It’s already June – and time for another edition of “Coffey’s Corner.”
It’s been a strange start to our busy season. Weather across much of the Southwestern U.S. has been –in a word – pleasant! In fact, for many parts of the country, this has been the coolest kickoff to summer on record. For our business, this equals fewer service calls, less stress on system, and, as a result, call volumes are down by as much as 10 percent through early June.
But, one thing is for sure, summer won’t stay cool for long. Things will heat up, our techs will be working long days, even longer ones when you factor in commuting to and from job sites. Please be careful out there if you are on construction sites or driving from service call to service call. We need everyone to focus on being safe first. Our families need everyone to get home safely every day.
June also marks the mid-year point and a great time to check in on how we are doing as a company. Here’s a quick update on some of our strategic initiatives:
We’re settling back in for the next five-year run with our new shareholders, Ares Management. Look for us to accelerate investments in several key areas as we double down on efforts to expand through acquisitions and make investments in technology and in our people. Our new training center will open sometime this fall. Look for photos and news in an upcoming CoolTimes. A special shout out to all those involved in the planning and construction.
Over the next five years, CoolSys will invest $15M in totally retooling how all of our companies use and think about technology, ultimately making life for our employees easier and enhancing service to our customers. We just signed a multi-year contract with Oracle to provide the new base software we use to run the company (ERP). Many thanks to the more than 40 employees from all areas of CoolSys that participated in our software vendor selection process.
We also have plans to continue integrating SalesForce for Customer Relations Management (CRM) and there are more technology upgrades to come.
Lastly, I want to take a moment to say “thank you” to all of you. I appreciate all the hard work going on out there in the field and in cubicles from coast to coast. I believe in you and am thankful for all that you do!
Best,
Adam
