CoolSys HR Leader Shares Her Insight and Advice in National Magazine
Congratulations to our very own Beth Goldstein, chief human resources officer, who was recently featured in Authority Magazine for a series on strong women leaders titled “Women of the C-Suite.” The magazine recognized Beth for her contributions to the success of CoolSys, her pioneering leadership as a female executive in the HVAC industry, and her mentoring and coaching of other women.
In the article, Beth shares about the work experiences that brought her to this point in her career, memorable stories along the way, the roles of executives in the workplace, and her views on important social and business issues of our time.
On the topic of diversity in executive leadership, for example, she says, “There is simply no better way to make impactful decisions than to ensure different perspectives are represented around the table. The most effective way to ensure diverse perspectives is a diverse and inclusive workplace. There is no substitute.”
What Executives Really Want
One of the myths about executives, Beth says in the interview, is that they are “‘too busy’ to grab a cup of coffee with or invite to lunch. Or ‘too important’ to bother with a challenging problem. The reality is that C-Suite executives relish nothing more than the opportunity to hear someone else’s feedback, provide words of wisdom and generally be viewed as a regular person working towards the same goals as everyone else in the organization.”
In the article, Beth also speaks about the unique challenges faced by women executives, advice for women leaders, the traits of successful executives and “5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Started.” Read the full interview with Beth to learn why her favorite life lesson quote is “Nothing is as it appears,” as well as the identity of the person she would most like to have a private conversation with
