Injured on the Job? Call the EHS Hotline First
No matter how careful you are at work, there may come a time when you get injured. If that happens, it’s essential that you follow CoolSys policy and immediately call the EHS hotline at 844-772-7233. Why is this so important?
Quick help on the spot. Even if your injury appears to be minor, an EHS healthcare professional will help you evaluate the injury and provide any self-care you may need right away. This can make the difference between an easily treatable situation and something that gets out of hand and requires more urgent or intense treatment. It can also keep you from having to miss work in the days ahead.
Stay on the proper care path. If needed, your EHS hotline healthcare professional can direct you to an appropriate clinic within our system, which helps us stay on top of your situation. If you go to your own primary care provider first — without notifying your supervisor or calling the EHS hotline — your injury is more likely to become an OSHA recordable event due to required time off or work restrictions.
Immediate reporting and monitoring. If you email EHS instead of calling the hotline, we are not able to monitor workplace injuries like we can when you use the hotline. As a result, our OSHA recordable rate is likely to increase. Third-party monitoring services report that rate as part of the job bidding process, which can affect our ability to secure new contracts. When we are able to monitor workplace injuries more closely, we can reduce the number of recordable claims while providing excellent care for our employees.
CoolSys cares about the health and safety of every employee. Your immediate and proper reporting of an injury on the job ensures that you get prompt and professional care from the CoolSys EHS team.
Remember: No matter how big or small, please report your workplace injury!
