Safe at Home — and in the Field
COVID-19 Update
We are all working together to stay safe at home and in the field. We’ve demonstrated that we are a vital and nimble organization that thrives even in the face of a crisis such as COVID-19. And, while it is not exactly business as usual, we are adapting. We continue to provide essential services to our customers in the field, and our office workers are adjusting to their new remote home offices. Honestly, we are faring so much better than so much of America right now, all thanks to our remarkable employees!
As we enter this next phase of stay-at-home orders, we want to remind our associates to continue to practice good hygiene, social distancing and take special precautions when out in public, like wearing masks.
While there is a lot of conflicting information circulating, we are doing our part to weed through it and monitor trusted sources such as the CDC and WHO, so we can share the latest information and guidance with our team. Watch your inbox for regular COVID-19 updates from Beth Goldstein.
Here’s a recap of some of the latest information:
- What to Do If You’re Sick – The CDC has added a “Self-Checker” guide to its website to help you make decisions and seek appropriate medical care. If you get sick, please contact your supervisor and stay at home. You’re advised to call your doctor for guidance before you seek care. Many people don’t require treatment and can recover in the comfort of their own homes. If you have COVID-19 or symptoms of respiratory illness, be sure to self-isolate, wear a mask or face covering if you need to be around others and avoid sharing household items. Read the update for more information.
- Benefits Updates – Healthcare benefits have been updated to include COVID-19 testing and first visit treatment. Kaiser also has extended benefits to cover COVID-19 outpatient and inpatient treatment at no cost to its members. We’ve expanded our Temporary Sick Leave policies to include COVID absences, and we have provided employees with access to support services through our EAP and Health Advocacy programs. Link to the update or contact your Human Resources Representative to learn more.
- Guidance for Employees – To help you navigate these trying times, we’ve provided answers to employees’ most frequently asked questions about COVID-19 and CoolSys’ operations and policies. If you missed it, you can check it out here.
Thank you all for what you do! We truly value your contributions and want you to remain healthy and safe. We are only one of the many essential industries, but the work you do is vital to our communities.
