Social Media Policy Update
Facebook. Instagram. Snapchat. TikTok. LinkedIn. The list goes on. Most of us already know that, no matter what social media platform we participate in, we should do so responsibly. That is even more so for CoolSys employees.
At CoolSys, we respect the rights of all employees to use social media. However, communication by employees on social media could, in certain situations, negatively impact business operations or customer relations — or even create legal liability. Therefore, it is necessary for the company to provide certain guidelines. These guidelines are intended to ensure that employees understand the types of prohibited conduct.
Guidelines for Social Media Use
Even when employees use social media purely for their own enjoyment without referencing CoolSys, its employees or competitors, they are still expected to act responsibly. All employees at all times are subject to all CoolSys social media policies and procedures, including — but not limited to — policies aimed at:
- Protecting trade secrets and confidential information related to the company’s operation.
- Safeguarding company property.
- Prohibiting unlawful discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
- Governing the use of company computers, telephone systems and other electronic and communication systems owned or provided by the company.
Additionally, unless authorized and approved by the company, it is prohibited to disclose or publish on social media any promotional content about the company or its products.
The complete CoolSys social media policy is available in the 2023 Employee Handbook. If you have questions, contact your HR Business Partner.
