Taking Action Against a Spike in Covid Cases

Earlier this year, it appeared that we had seen the worst of COVID-19 and life was returning to normal. Instead, with a sharp rise in Covid cases amid mixed messages about precautions, this might be the most confusing period we’ve experienced since the pandemic started. With unvaccinated people making up the vast majority of hospitalized Covid patients, we’re breaking down recommendations and guidelines to help you take the best action now to slow the spread of the virus.
If you have not yet been vaccinated …
Your CoolSys leadership strongly urges all employees to get a COVID-19 vaccine. There is undeniable evidence that vaccines work to greatly reduce your risk of being hospitalized or dying if you get the virus. That includes Covid’s newer variants. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has tips for finding a vaccine in your area.
To say thank you for your decision to be vaccinated, CoolSys will send you a $25 Visa gift card when you present proof of vaccine from now to the end of 2021. Here’s what you need to do:
- After you’ve been fully vaccinated (both shots of a two-shot vaccine or one shot of a single-shot vaccine), log in to mycoolsysbenefits.com. Use the “Single Sign-On” button to log in with your CoolSys email address and password.
- Click on “Claim your incentive.”
- Select the name of the vaccine you received, enter the date(s) you received it, upload a photo of your vaccine record card then click “Submit.”
- We’ll mail your $25 Visa gift card to your home address within 30 days of your registration.
Please continue to follow all Covid safety precautions, which include wearing a mask whenever you are with anyone who doesn’t live with you.
If you have been vaccinated …
The CDC recommends that even people who have been fully vaccinated should wear a mask in public places where COVID-19 transmission rates are high. This includes just about every county in the U.S. (See where your county stands.) Several states have taken this recommendation further, enacting mask mandates. These moves have come about in part because studies have shown that, even after a person has been vaccinated, they can still transmit Covid — including to children under age 12 and others who have not been or cannot be vaccinated.
For everyone, vaccinated or not …
A substantial number of CoolSys customers and suppliers are among those again requiring masks inside their buildings. (In most cases, this requirement includes those who have been vaccinated). That list is growing literally by the day. Please be careful to follow your customers’ masking and social distancing preferences, regardless of state or local standards.
We’re living in strange and challenging times — especially for those on our CoolSys team whose jobs require you to work in public settings.
