Industry-Leading Technician Training
CoolSys is dedicated to maintaining and growing our industry-leading training program — which is a big reason we have the top HVAC-R technicians in the industry! Our goal is to give techs the tools they need to build a rewarding career and advance to their highest aspirations.
HVAC-R Training for All Levels
Training opportunities encompass all levels of tech designations and a wide range of disciplines. We’re particularly proud of our in-house transcritical CO2 certification and advanced transcritical CO2 training to meet the growing demand for natural refrigerant expertise.
Welcome to the CoolSys Academy
The CoolSys Academy is designed to provide our employees not just with new knowledge and skills but with the opportunity to advance along a clear pathway as they grow in their careers. The Academy is based on proven educational processes, with courses designed especially for CoolSys by our own industry experts who are skilled in and passionate about training. CoolSys Academy participants also have the advantage of mentorship — both in the classroom and on the job — by top-level techs with years of experience in their fields of expertise.
Entry-Level Techs: Get Paid to Train!
Aspiring HVAC-R techs who are recent high school graduates or are attending a trade school can get paid to train at CoolSys! This exciting, 12-week program features a mix of classroom education and hands-on training. In addition, every participant is paired with a top-level, certified technician for ride-alongs and mentorship. Along with $20 per hour for the duration of the program, trainees receive a brand-new hand tool starter kit and help with EPA 608, OSHA 10 and other industry-standard certifications.
HVAC-R Training Facilities
One of the most exciting features of the CoolSys Academy is our three state-of-the-training facilities in Fullerton, California; Houston, Texas; and Jacksonville, Florida. Each facility contains high-end, sophisticated training equipment that functions just like the equipment in customer locations, as well as leak detectors and other common tools. This enables our award-winning trainers to teach with real-life scenarios, giving participants experiences they can begin to incorporate immediately in their day-to-day work.
