Anesa’s Employee Memorandum — September 2022
Over the past several months, I’ve shared our CoolSys Mission, Vision and Values, which form the foundation for every decision we make as an organization. Starting with this issue of CoolTimes, we’re going to look more closely at our values, using the acronym SERVICE and the guiding principles that make up that key word. They are Success, Execution, Results, Voice, Integrity, Collaboration and Exceed. This month, we’re going to focus on Success.
Success Is … Staying Safe
Safety is the foundation of success at CoolSys. Our business cannot operate without our entire team of healthy employees. Ultimately, however, safety matters because we care about you. We want to make sure every team member makes it home each day in the same condition they were in when they came to work. That’s why we’re working hard to create a culture of safety at CoolSys. Watch for new safety initiatives coming soon.
We’re proud of our CoolSys safety team, led by EHS Director Zach Bates, along with Alex Jackson, Michael Kohn, Wendell Rover, Bernard Rowlett and Steven Varone. Thank you for all you’re doing to develop a culture of safety at our locations throughout the U.S.
Success Is … Going the Extra Mile for Our Customers
When it comes to customer service, it’s not just about doing the job. It’s about doing the job in a way that meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations. It’s about showing them that CoolSys is a cut above all the other HVAC-R companies.
One important way we can do that is by approaching every job as One Team. Sometimes that means relying on help from other team members at your location or tapping into corporate and support services for technicians. At other times, it means working with colleagues from other CoolSys business units to get the job done.
A great example of the One Team mindset is our current project at a fulfillment facility for Hello Fresh, a provider of home-delivered meal kits. CoolSys is handling refrigeration and EMS design/build services for a large CO2 refrigeration system installation project at the facility. Several CoolSys entities are collaborating on this project, including Commercial & Industrial (C&I), CoolSys Energy Solutions (CES), CoolSys Energy Design (CED) and our Project Management Department.
Remember: Acting as One Team doesn’t mean we’re all melded together; it means that we leverage our collective strengths. We’re still individuals within separate branches of the company — but we work together cooperatively and collaboratively so that we represent a united front to our customers as One CoolSys.
Success Is … Helping You Reach Your Full Potential
Our goal is to make CoolSys a place where everyone can find a career for life. Fulfilling this goal involves things like competitive salaries and competitive benefits — but it also means providing opportunities for you to learn and grow in your skills and to advance in your career. We’re putting a great deal of effort toward enhancing and expanding our employee training and development program, which is led by Kyle Hickman and Brett Wetzel, with support from Ryan Herda. Elsewhere in this issue, you can learn more about Brett and his passion for education and training, and we’ll bring you up to date on training plans for the fall.
I hope you’ll also take a moment to read the story from last month’s issue of CoolTimes that features two fellow CoolSys employees, La Crishia Malcom and Bernard Rowlett, who were recently promoted into new roles that have advanced their careers. They are examples of the many outstanding members of our team who have distinguished themselves in their work and have, as a result, had the opportunity to move up at CoolSys and build their best lives.
Success Is … Growing Our Business Profitably
In order to continue offering great opportunities and great rewards for our CoolSys team, it is critical to profitably grow our current business and expand into new markets throughout the U.S. Your leadership team is working tirelessly to strategically advance CoolSys to be THE HVAC-R Company of Choice in the industries we serve.
One of the ways we’re doing that is through regionalization, a move that helps to reinforce our commitment to One Team. We’ve already established our four regions: the Northeast Region (ABC Refrigeration & HVAC, Eastern Refrigeration and Duquette Refrigeration), the Mid-Atlantic Region (Triangle, BRR Refrigeration and Richmond Refrigeration Service), the Midwest Region (CRM, Ron’s Refrigeration and Tech Mechanical) and the Southeast Region (T&O, Carolina Refrigeration and C.E. Holt). You’ll continue to hear more from us about regionalization in the months ahead.
The bottom line is our success at CoolSys is dependent on and all about you: We’re successful because of YOU, and as CoolSys becomes more successful, you will all benefit. Thank you for all the hard work you put in during the long, hot summer, and thank you for your continued cooperation and support as we make important changes to ensure the ongoing success of our company.
